He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Otto Gerschefski and Ina Magnuson Gerschefski; and his brother Peter Edwin Gerschefski. He is survived by: his siblings, JoEllen Gerschefski Wade (Carol Diamond) of Candler, NC, Martha Gerschefski (Clint Schaum) of Inman, SC and John Gerschefski (Jean) of Orrs Island, ME; and his sister-in-law Sheri Melton (Peter) of Maggie Valley, NC.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church (50 Marvin Cabe Ln, Hayesville, NC 28904). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
It was Mike's request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church building fund (50 Marvin Cabe Lane, Hayesville, NC, 28904).
