Moises Trinidad Sandoval Obituary
Moises Trinidad Sandoval, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away on November 24, 2022, at the age of 95. He was born to Wenceslao Sandoval and Frances (Martinez) Sandoval on May 5, 1927 in Wagon Mound, New Mexico. Moises is preceded in death by his son Moses E. Sandoval, Jr. and great-grandson Curtis Watts. He leaves behind his wife, Brenilda J. Wengert of 77 years, also from Wagon Mound, their three daughters, Loretta Sanchez (Joseph), Colleen Murphy (David), and Gina Molder (Greg), as well as four grandchildren; Camden, Deidra, Colby and Bradley, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Moises served during World War II in the U.S. Army. Upon his honorable discharge, Moises worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for a short time, as well as drove the school bus delivering students to and from school in Wagon Mound. He worked alongside his father-in-law, José Wengert, on the family ranch. Moises was employed by Pot Creek Logging and Lumber Company in Santa Fe. He was transferred to Taos and served as their foreman for several years until the company closed their doors.
Moises moved his family to Pueblo, Colorado where he trained, opened and operated Southside Barbers. He and Brenilda also purchased and operated Prairie Liquor. Mo and Brenilda lived in Pueblo 56 years before moving to Albuquerque to be closer to family. Out of Moises’ many accomplishments, and there were many, his greatest pride was his family whom he loved dearly, and they he.
