He was predeceased by: his parents, Osbey Dawson and Susie Heard Dawson; his wife Pearlene Nunley Dawson; his son Delbert Darnice (Dale); and his siblings, Arteria, Osbey Dawson, Jr. and Gwendolyn Jean Dawson.
He is survived by: his sons, Harvey E. Dawson (Kathy) and Joshua Dawson; his siblings, Prentis Dawson (Mildred), Willie Dawson (Nelda), Norris Dawson, Ozetter Crowley and Hannah Drake (Reuben); and his siblings-in-law, Helen Arlington and Harold Nunley.
