He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Rose Maestas and Felipe Maestas; his sister Rita Herrera; his brother-in-law Carlos Herrera (Charlie); and his nephew Joe Ray Chavez Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Bridget Gutierrez (Gilbert Jr.) and Vincent Robert Maestas (Michelle); his grandchildren, Arianna Gutierrez, Andres Gutierrez and Jordan Maestas; and his siblings, Molly Chavez (Joe Ray), Dennis Maestas (Danny) and Joey Maestas. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
