He is survived by: his wife Antoinette Villegas; his son Peter Nieto; his stepchildren, Andrew Villegas (Annette), Nicole Salazar (Michael) and Jacob Villegas (Sara); and his grandchildren, Aundre Villegas, Ines Villegas, Andres Villegas, Alejandro Villegas, Elijah Montoya, Maya Montoya, Joshua Villegas, Lilly Villegas and Paulina Villegas. He is also survived by five sisters; several nieces, nephews.

“Uncle Pete lived a life of courage as a proud veteran. Pete’s greatest joy was being a dad and brother to his five beloved sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents Leonid and Lucille, as well as his sister Shirley Kellner. His surviving sisters are Lolita Salazar, Mary Lou Duran, Patricia Nieto, Lorraine Sanchez and Elizabeth Nieto. He will be remembered for his carefree sprit and a was loved by all who knew him. We will carry his love with us always.”
