She is survived by: her father Edumenio Montoya; her sister Eva Merlyn Montoya; her brother-in-law Epi Chavez; her son Eric Capener; her daughter-in-law Whitney; her grandchildren, Logan, Chloe, Connor and Juliette; her daughter Stephanie Meyer (Greg); her granddaughter Lola; her son Lawrence Capener; and her siblings, Rosemary Chavez, Gina Montoya-Varela (Frank), Eddie Montoya (Moya), Jerry Montoya (Betty), Tommy Montoya (Kathy) and David Montoya (Tami). She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and many friends.
Shirley was a registered organ donor and upon her passing she went on to save three lives by donating her liver and her kidneys and many others with tissue donation.
