He is survived by: his children, Valerie Barela (Arnold), Jose Dario Barela (Catherine), Lawrence Barela (Yvette), Tanya Blewett (Jacob), Catherine "Cathy" Loya (Arturo), Enrique "Jesse" Cardiel (Karen) and Shawn Storey. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
