It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Viola Maria Ashcroft of Albuquerque, New Mexico, born in Coyote, New Mexico, who passed away on April 21, 2026, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Rex Ashcroft; her children, Edward Whisenhunt and Georgia Trujillo; and her stepson Shannon Ashcroft. She is survived by: her children, Roger Whisenhunt (Brenda), Glorianna Lee (Robert), John Whisenhunt (Trish) and Minnie Baker; and her stepchildren, Rex Ashcroft Jr., John Ashcroft (Sherri) and Terri Ashcroft Neely (Gary). She is also survived by grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and many extended family.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel (1000 Old Coors Dr SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 29th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 29th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mount Calvary Cemetery (1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102).
