He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Ortiz and Nena Ortiz; his siblings, Yolanda Ortiz and Johnny Ortiz; his son Joseph Ortiz; and his nephew Fedonta "JuneBug" White.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Ortiz; his children, Angel (Nicole), Gustavo (Amy), Jennifer (Parish) and Gabriela; his grandchildren, Angelo, Anthony, Destiny, Heaven, Noa and Luca; and his siblings, Mario (Keith), Judy, Tammy (Ben) and Tracy (Larry).
