He was predeceased by : his wife Miquela; his parent Rita Chavez; his brother Luis Florez; and his brother-in-law Carlos Molinar. He is survived by : his children, Rudy Florez (Vicky), Patricia Castaneda, Dee Dee Florez (Manuel), Brenda Carrasco (Ruben), Sandra Trujillo and Renee Florez; his sisters, Margaret Molinar, Gloria Ramirez (Billy), Juanita Hernandez (Pete) and Marina Mahan; and his stepfather Juan Chavez.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the St. Anthony Catholic Church (502 S 9th St, Artesia, NM 88210). A rosary was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at the Woodbine Cemetery (201 E Hermosa Dr, Artesia, NM 88210).
