He is survived by : his wife Frances Putman; his children, Melinda Putman and Jesse Putman; his granddaughters, Legend Otero, Lyrical (Brandon Stafford) and Elder Dean Stafford; and his sister Ressie Mae Welty of Muleshoe, TX. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
