He was predeceased by: his parents, Anastasia Chavez and Cristobal Chavez; his in-laws, Eselina and Esquipula Cordova; and his grandson Justin Gallegos.
He is survived by: his wife Lydia Cordova; his children, Navora Cordova (Gerald), Macrena Gallegos, Fernando Chavez Jr. and Miguel Chavez (Susan); his siblings, Richard Chavez (Gem) and Lydia Lona; and his caregiver Mary Silva. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
