He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Chavez and Albina Chavez; his parents-in-law, Donato and Ferminia Lovato; his siblings, Raymond and Eva; his siblings-in-law, Robert Lopez, Eloy Peralta, Leo Lovato and Alice Chavez; and his son-in-law Gary Holland.
He is survived by: his wife Rosie; his children, Kathy, Kristine (Mike), Kim (Wayne), Karla, Gilbert Jr. and Daniel; his grandchildren, Zac (Yvette), Margaux, Aaron, Beau (Julie), Luke (Jenny), Niko, Raquel, Shonlee, Richie, Mariah, Hailey, Braylon, Winter and Andrea; his great grandchildren, Eli, Reya, Alex and Alexa; and his grandson Alec Chavez. He is also survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, many loving nephews and nieces.
