He was predeceased by: his daughter Katherine Ortega; his parents, Mary Carrillo and Gonzalo Mendoza; his parents-in-law, Leo and Veronica Blake; his nephew John Blake; his sister-in-law Geraldine Gallegos; and his niece Dionne Hartnell.
He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, John (Nicole), Ashley (Ralph) and Matthew (Trinity); his grandchildren, Juan, Aislinn and Leah; his brothers, Raymond, David, Manuel, Andrew and Michael; his sisters-in-law, Wendy (Jesse), Sharon and Carol (Rick); and his cousin Amy Barela. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends.
