He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Montoya and Vivianita Montoya; his wife Barbara Santillanez Montoya; his sons, Matthew and Deacon Michael Montoya; his daughter-in-law Brenda Montoya; his sisters, Tillie Gutierrez and Irene Montoya; his great grandchild Serena Robles; and his siblings' children, Fermin Gutierrez, Stanley Gutierrez and Monica Montoya.
He is survived by: his daughter Michelle Aragon (Stephen); his brother Richard Montoya; his grandchildren, Theresa Robles (Ernesto Martinez), Korey Robles, Adrian Montoya and Abigail Montoya; his granddaughter-in-law Rosie Chavez; and his great grandchild Alyssa Robles (Marcella Pacheco).
