He was predeceased by: his parents, Esteban Chavez and Elizabeth Chavez. He is survived by: his children, Craig Chavez and Coleene Chavez; his brothers, Ronald Abe, Robert Yazzie and Ken Yazzie; and his niece Carmelia Byers. He is also survived by two granddaughters and two grandsons.
