He was predeceased by: his wife Nell Cox; his parents, Newt Cox and Mary Cox; his sister Betty Mosley; and his son Burl Cox.
He is survived by: his sister Linne Bell Hyde; and his children, Rick Cox (Peggy), Mary Ann Cox and Jimmy Cox (Liz). He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
