He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Vinka and Helen Vinka (Vecelka); and his siblings, Pauline McCabe, Henry Vinka, Jr. and Baby Vinka.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Vinka (Baker) of Carlsbad, NM; his children, Carl Vinka (Lesley) of Canyon Lake, TX, Cynthia Meeks (Sam) of Carlsbad, NM and Misty Carrasco (Nick) of Carlsbad, NM; and his grandchildren, Jacob Vinka, Laura Vinka, Austin Meeks (Anastasia Gurule), Olivia Meeks, Alyssa Meeks, Isabelle Carrasco and Danielle Carrasco. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church: 1302 W. Pierce St., Carlsbad, NM 88220.
