It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carlos Pineda Montoya of Carlsbad, New Mexico, who passed away on October 22, 2025, at the age of 39, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Sally Montoya; and his nephew Usvaldo Montoya III (Gordo). He is survived by: his father Usvaldo Montoya; his son Mason T. Montoya; and his siblings, Nick, Angela Benedick (family: Ann Marie Pineda), Usvaldo Montoya Jr., Rosario Montoya, Jerry, Esmeralda Carrasco, Manuel Montoya, Vanessa Montoya and Vincent. He is also survived by Numerous Nieces and Nephews Aunts Uncles and family Friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the West Funeral Home Chapel (401 N Guadalupe St, Carlsbad, NM 88220). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the San Jose Catholic (1002 Debaca St, Carlsbad, NM 88220). A committal service will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Santa Catarina Cemetery (1506 Boyd Dr, Carlsbad, NM 88220).
