He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Simmons Kirkes and Julia Mae Kirkes (Dawson); and his son-in-law Mike David. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Kirkes; and his children, Billy Jones (Vicki), Rita David, Vickie Prentiss (John), Nita Peacock (Randy) and Donnie Kirkes. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
