She was predeceased by: her parents, Refugio Avila and Petra Avila; her grandmother Candelaria Molinar; her aunt Clara Lopez; her siblings, Bessie and Chelo Martinez; and her grandson Frankie Vargas.
She is survived by: her husband Tommy Methola; and her children, Brenda Marquez (Art), Iris Saiz (Manuel), May Gonzales (Ruben), Jessica Granger (Lionel), Tim Methola (Veronica) and Tommy Methola. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Denton-Wood Funeral Home (1001 N Canal St, Carlsbad, NM 88220). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the San Jose Catholic Church (1002 Debaca St, Carlsbad, NM 88220). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
