He was predeceased by: his parents, Julian Montoya and Pablita Montoya (Torrez); his daughters, Mary Jazell Carnero and Elizabeth "Lisa" Calderon; his granddaughters, Faith and Hope Da Silva; and his siblings, Paul, Elias Montoya, Juanita Pelaiz, Feliz Lara, Josephina Aguilar, Martha Gomez, Genoveva Montoya, Esther Aguilar and Wanda Barron.
He is survived by: his wife Carmen Montoya; his children, Michael Montoya of Carlsbad, Carla Duarte (Tommy) of Carlsbad, David Anthony Montoya (Crystal) of Carlsbad and Leticia Da Silva (Brandon) of Carlsbad; his son-in-law Eppie Calderon of Hobbs, NM; and his grandchildren, Fernando, Adrian, Michael Ray, Jordan (Russell), Cristina (Josh), Andres, Rachel (Andrew), Elena (Debo), Stephen, Iliana, Brandon and Isabella. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
