He was predeceased by: his parents, R. E. Phillips and Mary Phillips (Lee); his daughter Teresa A. Elizondo; his son-in-law Marcos Elizondo; his grandson Mark Ryan Hinojos; and his brother Bobby Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce A. Phillips; his children, Tamara Davenport (Steve), Misty Phillips and Dennis R. Phillips; his grandchildren, Kandra Estes (Derick), Christal Fuentez, Shalisa Rivas (Luis), Nikki Medina (Jacob) and Raymond Fuentez; his great grandchildren, Lily, Andrew, Alex, Matthew, Alicia, Angel, Neiveo, Charitee, Chaleesta, Aaliyah, Perseyis, Joy, Luis, Emilo, Israel, Zerlira, Jazlyn, Aurelia and Everlee; his siblings, Emily Weston, Tommy Phillips (Melba) and David L. Phillips (Sally); and his sister-in-law Becky Phillips. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Denton-Wood Funeral Home (1001 N Canal St, Carlsbad, NM 88220).
