He was predeceased by: his parents, Stevan Quintela and Guadalupe Duran Quintela; his sisters, Carlota Flores, Juana Martinez, Lidia Gutierrez, Genoveva Chacon and Esperanza Lucero; Julia Quntela.
He is survived by: his spouse Basilisa Quintela (Bessie); his children, Gilberto Quintela Jr. and Anna Vasquez (Jody); his grandchildren, Angelica Navarrette, Alondra Vasquez (Anthony), Jose Vasquez IV (Cali), Kiyler Quintela and GiAndrea Hernandez; his great grandchildren, Nicholas, Aryanna, Angelo and Lillyanna Sandate; his siblings, Mary Aragon of Odessa, TX and Steven Quintela (Inez) of Carlsbad, NM; and his pet Romo.
