With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leopoldo S. Gonzalez of Carlsbad, New Mexico, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 23, 2026 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by: his parents, Merced Gonzalez and Mercedes Gonzalez (Salcido); his son Raul Gonzalez; his grandson Lucas Gonzalez; and his sisters, Luz Elena and Elvira Gonzalez.
He is survived by: his wife Lucy Gonzalez; his sons, Jaime Gonzalez (Veronica), Luis Gonzalez (Maria), Leo Gonzalez, Jr. (Luci) and David Gonzalez (Sonia); and his stepchildren, Gloria Ellis (Tony), Sylvia Venegas, Velma Venegas, Lupe Carrasco (Anna) and Veronica Hernandez (Eli). He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 2 great-greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
