He was predeceased by: his parents, Margarito Acosta Martinez and Blanche Morton Martinez; his siblings, Blanche Madrid, Margarito "Mort" Martinez Jr., Julia Florez and Lupe Pena; and his grandparents, Teofilo, Catarina Gonzales and Dewey Morton.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Chavez and Luis Martinez II; his grandchildren, Nathanial Castaneda and Reigna Lopez; and his siblings, Thomas "Tommy" Martinez (Celina), Gabriel Martinez (JoAnne), Amelia Franco, Priscilla Lopez and Cathy Greene (Jerry). He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, please honor his memory with a donation to a local animal shelter, like Noah's Ark Animal Shelter in Carlsbad.
