He was predeceased by: his parents, Roberto Melendrez and Elidia Melendrez (Gonzalez); his wife Rosemarie Martinez; his granddaughter Veanka Gonzalez; his siblings, Bobby Melendrez, Nila Reinhart and Rosemary Alvarez; and his nephew Ryan Melendrez.
He is survived by: his children, Annabelle Hernandez, Robert "Rico" Melendrez, Leah Marie Melendrez and Randy Lee Melendrez; and his sisters, Senida Madrid, Ida Melendrez, Elsa Chavez, Erma Melendrez and Patsy Brown. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
