Roger leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Roger’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Roger will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Simmons and Wyoma Simmons (Mackey); his former wife Geraldine Simmons; and his granddaughter Tynette Skye Mason. He is survived by: his wife Debra Simmons; his children, Tammi Mason (Randy), Roger "R. B." Simmons and Randy Simmons; and his sisters, Marilyn Gray (Don) and Nancy Cobb (Jim). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Denton-Wood Funeral Home (1001 N Canal St, Carlsbad, NM 88220). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 10:00 AM at 1502 W Mermod St, Carlsbad, NM 88220.
