He was predeceased by : his parents, Apolonio Muñoz and Hortencia Muñoz (Leos); his son Christopher James Muñoz; and his siblings, Anna Rodriguez, Rosella Muñoz, Felice Muñoz and Frank Muñoz.

He is survived by : his wife Lovie Muñoz; his sons, Rudy Muñoz, Jr. (Allyson) and Israel J. Muñoz of Jonathan; his grandchildren, Cody Muñoz, Annie Muñoz, Maddy Muñoz and Jonah Muñoz; his siblings, Delora Elizondo, Michael Muñoz (Rose), Teresa Morgan (Jimmy) and Carmen Bowman (Tom); and his sister-in-law Irma Muñoz. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
