He was predeceased by : his grandparents, Alejandro, Rafalita Ramirez, Mariano and Fransciquita Marez, Sr.; his brother Clifford Marez; his nephew Mario Mirabal; and his brothers-in-law, Joey and Christopher Rodarte.

He is survived by : his wife Gail Marez; his children, Joseph, Maxine (Joe) and Annette; his grandchildren, Younique, Aaron, Jaime, Fernando, Santiago and Miguel; his parents, Mariano Marez and Cora Marez; his sister Marian Mirabal; and his siblings-in-law, Oliver and Elsie Rodarte. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
