He is survived by: his wife Martha Chavez; his children, Stephen Chavez of Albuquerque, Tony Chavez Jr. of Lubbock, TX, Ruth Sena of Clovis, NM and Debbie Lopez (Rito) of Clovis, NM; his brother Luis Chavez (Pio) of Albuquerque, NM; and his grandchildren, Alicia Lopez, Juan Lopez, RJ Lopez, Tony Chavez III, Nat Chavez, Ellie Chavez, JC Pacheco, Xavier Williams, Kiana Williams, Gabby Basped, Brandon Holt Jr., Bella Lopez, Savvy Chavez, Skylar Hamilton, Charly Hamilton, Jett Hamilton and Ricky Hamilton.
