With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Austin Jordan Chairez of Clovis, New Mexico, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 5, 2025 at the age of 31. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Priscilla Romero, Lupe and Claudio Vela; his uncle David Chairez; and his cousin CiDen Chairez.
He is survived by: his son Esias Cardenas-Chairez; his parents, Avelino (Jan Chairez) and Leona (Albert Tijerena); his siblings, Priscilla Chairez of Clovis, NM, Albert Tijerena Jr. (Kayla) of Clovis, NM and Michael Tijerena (Jennifer) of LaVilla, TX; his grandfather Alex Romero of Clovis, NM; and his nephews, Eric Hernandez, Alex "Gary" Martinez, Marco Chavarria, Matthew Mascarenas, David Vela and Dominique Chairez. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
