Cheryl Ann Little Obituary
Cheryl Ann (Brown) Little was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on July 15, 2022, after battling Lupus and its complications for several years. She left behind her husband, Gilbert Little; two daughters, Angela and Aaron Luce, and Amy and Josh Corbin; a sister, Diane Knuckles, and nephew, David Brown; grandchildren Holly Corbin, Tyler Corbin, Revellyn McDaniel, Riley George, and Alison Thomas; and great-granddaughter, Lyrik Zamora. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Henley and Merle Brown, and niece Kathyrn Brown.
Cheryl was born to Henley and Merle Brown October 14, 1957, in Denver, Colorado. She attended Clovis High School and was an active member of the Wildcat Marching Band. After graduating, she married Gilbert and they began their journey into familyhood. She became a mother in 1978 with the birth of Angela, followed shortly by Amy's arrival in 1979. She traveled and saw the world for the next twenty years with her family by her side after Gilbert enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. She loved nothing more than being a wife and mother. Her family and loved ones were her most valuable treasures.
Cheryl had broad interests and was a life-long learner. She was inquisitive and enthusiastic about everything she encountered and pursued. She completed her bachelor's degree from Kansas University, followed recently by the completion of her master's degree from Wayland Baptist University in 2016. Most recently, she had ventured into the world of local politics and ran a campaign for a house seat in the Texas Legislature.
Cheryl had a large and compassionate heart. Much of her legacy will be the love she shared and gave to others. She was a children's advocate and a voice for many that were unable to utilize or share their own. Whether she lent a warm embrace or strong shoulder and ear, or a safe haven and space for vulnerability and healing, she was always willing to give and share anything she had or could give to another that was in need or wanting. Many of the girls' friends and schoolmates became life-long friends and special extended family members. For many, she stood in place as a surrogate mother, sister, and/or friend. Family was defined by love, not by birth or blood.
Cheryl will be gravely missed but pleasantly remembered. She was a light of love and active in her walk with the Lord. While the family is grieving and sorrowful, they are comforted in knowing that she is no longer in pain or suffering and has been reunited with her loved ones waiting for her arrival with welcome and embracing arms.
A graveside service will be held Saturday July 23, 2022 at 9:00Am at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, NM, for friends and family, followed by a celebration of her life and love. In lieu of flowers, and at her request, please consider making a donation to the Lupus Foundation. The family asks for continued prayers for strength, comfort, and healing.
