He was predeceased by: his parents, Odis Bonner and Kathryn Bonner; and his wife Gustenia Bonner. He is survived by: his daughters, Cynthia Balch (Jody) of Clovis, N. M. and Suzanne Scott (Mark) of Washington, D. C; his granddaughters, Sarah Rivera (Josh), Brooke Burt (Seth), Janie Balch, Sidney Mansour (Rayan) and Amelia Scott; and his great grandchildren, Betsy, Annabel, Clara Burt and Jude Mansour.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a philanthropist, donating money to local and national causes.
