She was predeceased by: her father Robert Matthews; her son Waymon Dowdy, Jr.; and her great grandchild Waymon Dowdy. She is survived by: her husband Waymond Dowdy, Sr.; her children, Denise Dowdy of Portales, NM, Eric Dowdy of Clovis, NM and Dante Dowdy of Clovis, NM; her mother Laura Lee Matthews of Elberton, GA; and her siblings, Terisa Martin of Overseas, Joyce Dowdy (Dedrick) of Colbert, GA, Michael Matthews of California and Robbie Matthews (Hazel) of Piedmont, SC. She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
