He was predeceased by: his sister Mary Frances Ramirez; his parents, Joe Alvarez and Angela Santos (Acebedo); and his half-brother Johnny Santos. He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Cynthia Romero (Arthur) of Albuquerque, Caroline "Carrie" Alvarez, Melissa "Lisa" Marie Alvarez, Kenny Nunn (Paula) of Albuquerque and Karen "Nunn" Cody; his grandchildren, Carolyn Finn (Brendan) of Albuquerque, Phillip Romero (Rachael) of Albuquerque, Nichole Lovvorn (Justin) of Forney, TX, Cody Daniel Nunn of Tucson, AZ and Tyler Nunn (Susanna) of Albuquerque; his great grandchild Layla Jane Finn; and his grandchildren, Nicolas "Nico" Joseph Finn, Brynn Marie Romero, Myles Jesse Romero, Dylan James Romero, Kase Jaxson Lovvorn, Lexi Reese Lovvorn, Kaiden Christopher Nunn and Kenny Knox Nunn.
