He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace D. May and Catherine V. May; his brother Johnny May; and his nephew Randy May. He is survived by: his significant other Marsha Matlock; his sister Edna Taylor (Jodi); his son Shawn; his daughter-in-law Lisa May; and his grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, Amber May and James Stanberry. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and great grandchildren.
