Jimmie D. Bates Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jimmie D. Bates (a resident of Tucumcari), born in Clayton, New Mexico, who passed away on November 6, 2023 in Clovis, New Mexico, at the age of 86 from complications of Alzheimers. Jim lived most of his life in NM but also in TX and WA. He was a farmer, rancher, and construction owner most of his life. He is preceded in death by both his parents, a brother, and two sisters and many other relatives as well as the love of his life, Olive E. (Tweeten) Bates. Jim is survived by two daughters, Terry Spangler of Vancouver, WA and Tami Williams of Tucumcari, NM. He is also survived by four grandchildren, one brother, three sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and current wife, Virginia/Jinnah of Tucumcari. Jim requested no services of any kind and was laid to rest next to Olive in the Logan Cemetery in a private family gathering.
