With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Murl Lavonia Carpenter of Clovis, New Mexico, who passed away on December 29, 2021 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Ernest "Rex" Carpenter; her parents, Charles Hatchett and Mary Hatchett; her mother-in-law Inez Carpenter; and her siblings, Gertrude Lane, Frances Kempf, Ava Stewart and Charles Hatchett.

She is survived by: her children, Ronald Rex Carpenter (Nancy), Jimmy Carpenter (Brenda), Janice Hughes (Garlan), Kathy Carpenter, Dianne Myers (Richard) and Otis Carpenter (Karen); and her siblings, Gladys Shelton and Jerald Hatchett. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
