He was predeceased by: his parents, Arturo Sandoval and Feliz Sandoval (Cantú); his wife Margaret "Peggy" Ann Axford; and his siblings, Arturo Sandoval, Dolores Sanchez, Lilia Barrera, Jose R. Sandoval and Beatriz Martinez.

He is survived by: his daughter Josie Swecker (Bill). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 24 nieces and nephews.
