He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Smith and Betty Smith; and his sister Sheri Jane. He is survived by: his wife Valeria Smith (Meier); his sons, James Smith and Michael Smith (Alicia) of Austin, TX; his daughter-in-law Angie Marple (Kevin) of Altus, OK; his grandchildren, Calloway Smith, Peyton Smith, Chad Jordan (Jayla), Brady Marple and Abbey Marple; and his sister Jean Kiker.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (1021 N Prince St, Clovis, NM 88101). A graveside service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at the Lawn Haven Cemetery (1601 E Llano Estacado Blvd, Clovis, NM 88102).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Eastern New Mexico University Foundation's "Carl Richardson and B.B. Lees Scholarship".
