He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan Yazzie and Bessie Yazzie; and his sister Ruby Tsinnaginnie. He is survived by: his wife Frances P. Tony; his stepdaughters, Tina Deschenie (Michael Thompson) and Valerie Vicenti; and his siblings, Mary Curley, Elizabeth Yazzie, Ben Willie Yazzie (Rita) and Ben Chee Yazzie (Melinda). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
