He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Chavez and Flora Chavez; his siblings, Feliz Sarracino, Velma Anderson, Adelino Chavez and Joe M. Chavez; his granddaughter Mandy Bustos Martinez; and his sons-in-law, Bernie Bustos, Jr. and Bruce Canfield.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cindi Vecere Stevick (Chris) of Phoenix, AZ, Jeanenne Bustos of Grants, Valerie Bustos (Anthony) of Grants, Shawnee Tischler (Kyle) of Breckenridge, TX and Shawna Reatherford (Chris) of Trent, TX.; his siblings, Florinda Brito of Grants and Eugene Chavez (Rita) of Cubero; and his sister-in-law Lorraine Chavez of Cubero. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Light Church. A Mass was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
