He was predeceased by : his father Joe P. "Brown Bear" Garcia; his grandparents, Jose Luis "Chepe" Garcia, Maria Guadalupe "Lupe" Garcia and Juanita "Jenny" Frias; and his uncles, Antonio P. "Brown Bear" Garcia and Johnny Ray "Cobra" Garcia.

He is survived by : his mother Olga C. Garcia; his wife Isabel "Chiquita" Garcia; his children, Joe Michael Garcia Jr. (Faith Garcia) and Jasmine Garcia; his brothers, Paul, Gabriel (Diana) and Gerald Garcia (Lisa Garcia); his granddaughters, Gabriella and Jordyn; and his pet Ramsey. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins, and his brothers.
