He was predeceased by: his parents, William Franklin and Dovie Franklin; his wife Martha Lay; his siblings, William Franklin Jr. and Nancy Lamb; and his siblings-in-law, William Lay, Charles Tarver, Dwayne Humble, John Lamb, Billie Hampton, Melba Tarver and Wanda McKnight.
He is survived by: his children, Brian Young (Britni) of Odessa, Christina Nguyen-Franklin (Swannie) of Del City, OK, Michelle Jenkins (Shane) of Rocksprings and Stephanie Harkrider (Jeremy) of Frisco; his sisters-in-law, Donna Humble, Jimmie Sanders (Phillip), Pattie Lay and Jeanell Franklin; his grandchildren, Zackary Woody, Brittany Marsh (Levi), Christopher Palmer (Brandi), Damon Palmer (Erin), Colby Jenkins, Trey Lopez, Cameron Jenkins (Suzette), Caleb Monti, Braden Young, Jayslin Young, Shailynn Young, Madilynn Young and Graham Young; his great grandchildren, Austin, Brody, Karter, Addison, Chandler, Lynnlea, Jade, August and Ryker; and his close friends, Nancy, Ginger and Bobby. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home (6801 I-20BL, Odessa, TX 79762).
