She was predeceased by: her parents, Isabel Valdez (Sanchez) and Andres Valdez; her significant other Jerry Cruz; and her siblings, Theresa Gallegos and Louis Valdez.
She is survived by: her nephew Ayden; her son Joby Rivera (Haley) of Cheraw; her grandsons, Antonio, Roberto, Francisco and Enrique; her siblings, Mary Helen Vannoy (Roger), Georgann Valdez, Stephen Valdez, Barbara Atencio (Alex), Marie Valdez and Dorothea Valdez; her aunt Della Sanchez; and her close friend Karen Rainwater Harris. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
