He was predeceased by : his parents, Mamie Yazzie and Franklin B. Yazzie; his wife Margaret B. Franklin; his siblings, John Franklin, James Franklin, Chester Franklin Sr., Mary Smith, Lucy Lee and Mary Toney; and his granddaughter Melanie S. Franklin.

He is survived by : his children, Harry W. Franklin Jr. (Albuquerque), Michael E. Franklin of Kayenta, AZ, Gary D. Franklin of Shiprock, NM and Sue K. Franklin of Shiprock, NM; and his siblings, Wilford Franklin Sr. and Esther Begay. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren.
