He is survived by: his wife Renee; his children, Erin Smith (Matthew) of Tucumcari and Powhatan Price Carter of Clovis; his grandchildren, Ashton Smith, Carter Smith, Powhatan Lane Carter and Kate Carter; and his siblings, Beverly Anne Overton (Charlie) and Rodney Carter (Dawn). He is also survived by numerous nieces and a nephew, and cousins.
