Jon Barksdale Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jon Barksdale of Hatch, New Mexico, born in Morenci, Arizona, who passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Jon departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Jon may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Jon leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his wife Donna Barksdale; and his daughter Holly Potter. He is survived by: his children, Jonathan Barksdale, Kenneth Barksdale, Tina Mildred and Kathy Wilder; and his brother Jerry Massie.
The military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery (5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Southwest Llama Rescue, a cause close to Jon's heart.
