He was predeceased by : his parents, Antonio Medena and Esperanza Medena; his son Jimmy Medena; and his brother Juan Medena. He is survived by : his children, Joe Manuel Carrasco and Amy Serna; his brother Jose Medena; his grandchildren, Nathan Medena, Nina Medena, Bridget Mitch, Bryan Carrasco and Brendan Carrasco; and his great grandchild Oliver Mitch.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Chapel of Hope Funerals & Cremations (3321 N Dal Paso St, Hobbs, NM 88240). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Hope Funeral Home (3321 N Dal Paso St, Hobbs, NM 88240). A burial was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM at the Eunice Cemetery.
